Countdown to the Call: 7/7/7

Last night, We (me + Adriane, Abigail & Amy = we) drove from Chattanooga to Atlanta to hang out with our friends from Jesus Culture. They are really awesome to be around. We got there just as the team was getting ready for dinner and they welcomed us in and shared their grub with us. We got to hang out with our friend Scott Thompson for a while. I love being with him, he is a great encourager and friend to us. We also got to see his wife, Lacey and little baby girl, but they had just left for a nap when we got there, so we only got to see them for a few minutes after the meeting was over.

Anyway, we also got to hang out with Banning (Leader of Jesus Culture, but more important – he is the Associate Video Announcement Pastor “AVAP” at Bethel Church{see http://welovethebulletin.com } for a few minutes…  I love his heart for calling this generation into the fullness of their destines. We share a passion to see campuses get transformed by the power and presence of the King. I look forward to see how we are going to be able to work with Banning, Erica (the national director for a new movement called Campus Awakening) and the team to see a greater impact on campuses in our region. (Pittsburgh/Youngstown)

The night was amazing. I walked into the team’s break room and sat down next to Scott. I looked up and realized that Lou Engle was sitting across the table from us. It was cool to hear him talk about The Call. He and Erica were also talking about what God is doing on campuses in California, and what they could do to be involved.

Lou brought an amazing message about John the Baptist and raising up a new breed of nazarites that will say no to the pleasures of this world, in order to say yes to the divine pleasure of God. Lou preached hard for about an hour and a half, and it was all good. I needed to hear that message. He talked in the intro about “dreamers”, and said something that reinforced what the Lord has been teaching me about the DNA of dreams. He said that are dreams carry more power than our thoughts. I really felt EN:couraged and challenged by the word that he brought.

It was also good to hear him talk about this summer. We have been talking for months about the opportunity that is before the believers of our nation in this season. If we will press into God right now, we can see transformation take place in a way that will be beyond our wildest dreams. Banning was calling everyone to pray for our country earlier in the meeting, and he said that this summer is and epic opportunity to see our nation changed. Lou spoke into the significance of this year. 40 years since “the summer of love” rebellion swept across our country. 400 years since the cross was planted on the shores of Jamestown. (I will try to get into the significance of all this later, but you can learn more at fastandpray.com .

The whole night was like a look into the not so distant future. The love of God filled the room, and the passionate, leaving nothing in reserve worship filled the air. There was almost a tangible sense of the mingling of God’s pleasure for us and our adoration for Him. The Jesus Culture Youth Team led us in prayer for our nation, and it was one passionate cry from many voices for our nation to return, return, return to Him.

I left recharged and more determined than ever to fulfill my part in this great move of God. You see, God has already written a novel about every one of our days, and He is a great writer. I want to fulfill every word that He has written for me. So join in and fast and pray for our nation. Join the growing throngs that are saying “YES” to the Creator King. And get ready for the shaking that is going to change the landscape of our nation. It will happen, it has already started. Can you feel it? It’s the countdown, not to an event, but to the Call.
